If you are in the near future thinking about purchasing your first home, you had better be well prepared for the huge commitment that this curtails, it certainly isn t anything you would want to take lightly, and in fact it might be the biggest ever investment you will ever make in your life. So the question is have you found that perfect place yet?
If the answer is “yes”, you might find that making a checklist will be of great help to you before you make the final purchase, remember you don t want to be making a mistake at this late stage. A checklist, you will find will become a valuable tool to you in the preceding days and weeks so don t kid yourself into thinking that you don t need one, take it from me, you do. It s all too easy to be sidetracked by seeing the obvious “good points” of your new found palace.
So a few points to consider on your checklist are just how much room do you need, what is the exact square footage you desire. Also how many bedrooms will you need, are you planning on having children, if you are how many, two, three four, these are all factors to consider. How many bathrooms will you need are you going to have a big family or will just that one bathroom be enough. Do you think your house should have a basement in it, ideal for extra storage or even a converted games room. What style of kitchen do you require what type of flooring would you prefer to be laid, do you want the modern laminate flooring or would you prefer tiles or even real wood, and is the kitchen big enough for that growing family, remember the kitchen is now becoming one of the main family socializing rooms in the house, what is better than the whole family sitting down at meal times talking about the day, this really helps the bonding of the family unit.
Would you like a house with a fireplace or are you just planning on central heating. This is just a small example of what you could place on your checklist. Another great place to look for tips is online, there will be a multitude of sites that will be able to help you out, there are many good real estate sites that will guide you in the right direction, and the good thing is you can do it from the comfort of your own home.
